Pont Mirabeau
Opened in 1896, the Pont Mirabeau links the 15th to the 16th arrondissement, between the Eiffel Tower and the Maison de la Radio. It owes its fame to Guillaume Apollinaire's poem "Sous le pont Mirabeau coule la Seine", written in 1912 after a break-up.
Its four allegorical statues, the City of Paris, Navigation, Abundance and Commerce, adorn the bridge's piers. Offering a fine perspective on the Statue of Liberty on the Île aux Cygnes, it remains little visited by tourists.
Tip: allow 10 minutes to cross, then drop down onto the Île aux Cygnes to walk to the Statue of Liberty.
