Pont de la Tournelle
Linking the Latin Quarter to the Île Saint-Louis, the Pont de la Tournelle owes its name to a medieval tower of the Philippe Auguste wall. The statue of Saint Geneviève, patron saint of Paris, watching over the city from the bridge, is the work of Landowski, the sculptor of Rio's Christ.
It is one of the most photogenic bridges in Paris: from its parapets, you can photograph Notre-Dame, the Île Saint-Louis and the restaurant La Tour d'Argent, which owes its name to the same vanished tower. The current bridge dates from 1928.
