Set at 6 rue de Furstenberg, in the painter's last apartment and studio, the Delacroix Museum occupies the place where the artist settled in 1857 to be near the church of Saint-Sulpice, whose Chapel of the Holy Angels he was decorating. He died here in 1863.
Saved from demolition by a committee of artists led by Maurice Denis, it holds paintings, sketches, Moroccan objects brought back from his 1832 journey, and his studio opening onto a small garden. Tip: an intimate museum you can see in an hour; the ticket also gives same-day access to the Louvre collections, to which it belongs.
