Jardin Anne-Frank
Hidden behind the Hôtel de Saint-Aignan, home to the Museum of Jewish Art and History, the Anne Frank Garden is a small 4,000 m² space opened in 2007, reached through a discreet passage off Impasse Berthaud. Many Marais walkers pass by without suspecting it.
It has three sequences: a planted courtyard, a pergola and a vegetable garden for children. A chestnut tree, grown from a cutting of the one Anne Frank could see from her Amsterdam annexe, has been planted here. Tip: enter from Impasse Berthaud, next to the hunting museum, for the easiest access; the garden closes early in winter.
