Question 1

What is MyCityWalk?

Accepted Answer

MyCityWalk is an online service that builds walking itineraries in Paris. Drawing on a database of more than 1000 verified places (landmarks, museums, gardens, squares, covered passages, viewpoints), it assembles a coherent route with a map, visit durations and a description of each stop. You'll also find ready-made walks by neighborhood and thematic guides.

Question 2

How do I create a personalized itinerary on MyCityWalk?

Accepted Answer

From the homepage, enter your starting point, the time you have (1 hour to a full day), your pace and your interests, then generate. The route appears within seconds with the order of stops, the map, walking times between places and an introduction. You can regenerate as many times as you like.

Question 3

Is MyCityWalk free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Itinerary generation, walks, guides and place pages are free, with no account or sign-up. Only entrance tickets to paid sites (museums, monuments) are on you: each page shows an indicative price and states what is free.

Question 4

How does the interactive map work?

Accepted Answer

Every itinerary, walk and guide comes with a map showing the places in route order. You can zoom, tap a marker to open the place page, and open the route in a navigation app to be guided on foot.

Question 5

Can I use MyCityWalk on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the site is mobile-first and runs directly in your phone browser, with no app to install. It's designed to be used while walking, with the map and next stop always at hand.

Question 6

Are itineraries optimized automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The algorithm orders stops geographically to avoid detours and backtracking, then adapts the number of places to your available time and to each site's realistic visit duration. A one-hour route therefore differs from a full-day one.

Question 7

Can I explore Paris according to my interests?

Accepted Answer

Yes: when generating, you pick one or more themes — must-sees, culture, nature or photography. Place selection and stop order adapt to that choice, so the same starting point can produce very different routes.

Question 8

How many places are available on MyCityWalk?

Accepted Answer

The database holds more than 1000 documented places in Paris and its surroundings, across about fifteen categories, all 20 arrondissements and the inner suburbs. It is expanded and corrected regularly: photos, indicative opening hours, prices and visit durations are reviewed with each update.
